Deep Stain on Top Rib
There was a deep unsightly stain on the top rib of this viola. Michiko Hayashi who has been working with me again recently did the cleaning for me and a couple of coats of oil varnish have done the trick.

Ready for Gluing
I wouldn’t choose to do a stopped neckgraft because of the endgrain joints and having to fit 2 extra surfaces but in this case I decided replacing like for like to avoid removing any original wood.
