The final result of the peg bushings I recently showed a video of, in collaboration with Michiko Hayashi.
Once the maple peg bushings have been carved back after dampening the endgrain a few times, I cover them with filler varnish to seal the joints and the endgrain, scrape it all back and the retouch goes on top.
