I’m not sure what caused the damage on this fairly new instrument but all those chips had to be dealt with individually.
Applying filler varnish over each chip and once dry, scraping it and flattening each one to blend them into the billard ball finish. It’s hard to get the texture perfect and you could spent hours and hours. I stopped at 3 hours altogether.
