A Messy Top Block Area

An ongoing project to secure this very messy upper block area of a cello.

The edges either side of the neck cut-out were made up of uneven half-edging and bits of new edges had been added on along the top.

Both sides needed an L-edge fitting, wood adding to the sides and the bottom of the neck cut-out and then finally securing it all with a patch.

I quite like using the disc sander when starting to fit a patch of this size, then a chisel and a scraper to finish. At the end, I glue-size the patch and check once more with some more minor scraping before gluing it in.
