An emotional treat for my husband Tony and I at this local Charity Concert by the fabulous Kingfisher Strings this afternoon when both our violins were played by Beth and Yan-Yi. I only finished my violin 2 days ago and wasn’t expecting it to be played!

This violin was made years ago based on the Nicolo Amati model, the “Alard”, and I finally decided to re-varnish it and do a bit of antiquing.

One was 2 days old – how long ago did you make the “Alard”? They sounded great even having not been broken in.

Both violins had their woodwork completed in the mid-90s! We re-varnished them and did some antiquing too.
