An Unexpected Meeting

This post isn’t about my work as such but about an unexpected meeting I had 2 days ago.
I live close to Sutton Hoo, the famous burial ground of an anglo-saxon ship with amazing treasure which can be found in the British Museum. A recent film called “The Dig” describes the find in 1938.
A Charity in Woodbridge, a beautiful small town on the other side of the river from the Sutton Hoo Site, is in the process of making a replica boat of the original.

To cut a long story short, Pete Clay, who you can see in this photo and is involved in the whole project, is a violinmaker who went to Newark in 1973 and worked at W.E. Hills in London for 5 years before he became self-employed! What are the chances!
